Each year, the German Association of mid-size Kitchen Retailers, BMK, awards an innovation prize for special product innovations.
Back in 2007 Hacker were awarded a prize in the kitchen furniture category for its “silent-move” product and now once again in 2010 for its emotionNOVA line.
The emotionNOVA project kicked off with these key objectives - thinking across borders, changing perspectives, challenging expectations.
The aim of lead designer Dietmar Hentschker’s was to reduce the fitted kitchen down to base principles and reconstruct it with the ethos of ‘beauty put to good use.’
The result: a kitchen system based on individual elements clearly belonging in the avant-garde category within the designer kitchen industry. Each of its twenty-eight functional areas appears as an individual, framed sculpture – at times light and floating, other times strikingly cubic in its presentation.
Hacker has raised its design ethic to the level of a fine art, treating the way they think about what to most would seem a straight-forward choice as a conceptual journey influenced by contemporary artistic trends and ideas.
